Drainback Systems
GenPro specializes in drainback systems by Energy Labs. Drainback systems are designed to allow your flat-plate solar thermal water heaters to drain back into the water tank in your home once the desired water temperature has been reached. This prevents water stagnation within your collector. This method also allows the collector to be used safely in freezing temperatures. Drainback systems are a more efficient alternative to closed-loop systems using anti-freeze.

The ProPac™ is a fully assembled Drainback system that installs with a wrench. Pre-tested and factory certified, this cutting edge solar appliance supports up to 320 gallons of storage and multiple collector brands up to 160 square feet.
Collector interconnect lines can be either copper or PEX.
All PROPAC™ systems are equipped with an innovative, intelligent control system that maximizes energy capture from the solar array. All sensors are included along with instructions and a warranty card.
The DRAINBACK system configuration for solar heating is the single most trouble free, reliable and least costly to install active type system. Drainbacks are the easiest to operate and maintain. Years of field experience have gone into the design of the PROPAC™ heat transfer units. A unique feature of the PROPAC™ is its ability to be installed in the most advantageous location. It can be remote from either the collectors or the system load storage, or both. There are no valves of any kind required in the collector array or piping.

ProPac T System Tanks

PROPAC T systems go one step further with the Heat Exchanger outside the drainback tank. This allows for additional savings by purchasing only a solar storage tank or even the existing water heater.
Offered in 10, 15, and 20 gallon sizes, the standard PROPAC T systems are designed for mounting on top of the solar storage tank or water heater.
For more system customization, PROPAC T systems are available with different heat exchanger sizes to suit he amount of collectors used.
